SBA Re-Certifies BCT LLC WOSB Status

BCT LLC is pleased to have been officially re-certified as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) by the US Small Business Administration (SBA). From our beginnings in 2006, BCT has always been a WOSB. Last fall the Government updated the requirements for WOSB certification in order to strengthen oversight and maintain the integrity of the certification process. As a result, existing WOSB contractors including BCT had to be re-certified using more stringent criteria and more rigorous formal processes under the new program. The new criteria align with other socio-economic categories.

SBA WOSB Program

The federal government's goal is to award at least five percent of all federal contracting dollars to women-owned small businesses each year. To meet this goal and to help provide a level playing field for women business owners, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the WOSB Federal Contracting Program. These contracts are for specific industries where women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) are underrepresented. The SBA maintains a list of those eligible industries and their NAICS codes.
